Google is preparing another round of changes to its Gemini app, this time restricting which AI models free users and AI Plus subscribers can access, according to a report by 9to5Google. This follows the compute-based usage system the company rolled out back in May.

Previously, Gemini app users across different tiers had broader access to various models, but under the upcoming changes, model availability will be more clearly tied to subscription level. At the top end, Google's AI Pro plan will gain access to a new Deep Think feature, an advanced reasoning capability designed to tackle more complex problems by allowing the model extra time to think through solutions.

The move signals a clearer tiering strategy for Google's AI offerings, separating free and lower-tier users from those on premium plans. For users in Myanmar who rely on the free version of Gemini as their everyday AI assistant, this could mean reduced access to certain models going forward, with more advanced capabilities reserved for paid subscribers.

Google has not yet released full details on the rollout timeline or the exact model restrictions for each tier, but further specifics are expected to be announced soon as the changes take effect across the Gemini app.
