President Donald Trump and CEOs of leading tech companies signed an artificial intelligence (AI) technology oversight and security agreement at the White House. The agreement, titled "Joint Commitment On Frontier Responsibilities," was described by Trump as "like a constitutional framework." The ceremony was attended by key leaders from global AI giants including Anthropic, Google, Meta, OpenAI, Nvidia, and xAI.

The agreement lacks formally enforceable provisions according to the document, but instead emphasizes company self-policing. Additionally, with rapid advancement in AI technology, the companies agreed to systematically implement a four-tiered Safeguard system to mitigate cybersecurity and biosecurity risks, including internal controls, independent third-party audits, and board oversight reviews.

President Trump stated that the United States will not impose overly strict regulations that could slow AI development while competing with China. Simultaneously, Trump also signed an executive order instructing American government agencies to replace the term "Artificial Intelligence" (AI) with "Super Intelligence" (SI) in official documents and policies.
