In Pennsylvania, 11-year-old Clayton Dietz has been charged with homicide after shooting and killing his adoptive father when his Nintendo Switch was confiscated and he was told to go to bed on the night of his 11th birthday. He is being held without bail and will be tried as an adult. The incident occurred in the early morning hours of January 13 at a home on South Market Street in Duncannon. When police arrived, they found 42-year-old father Douglas Dietz dead from a gunshot wound to the head. His wife Jillian Dietz told police she was woken by a loud noise and found her husband bleeding. The child admitted to being upset when his father took away his game console and told him to go to bed. He then searched a fireproof safe in a dresser for the game console and found a gun instead. According to police records, he loaded the gun, walked to his sleeping father's bedside, and pulled the trigger. The couple had adopted the child in 2018. He is currently being held without bail and is scheduled to appear in court on January 22. He told police he acted out of anger, without thinking about what would happen next. Ref: people
