A 29-year-old former train driver named Liu Ziyu from Yunnan Province in China, who has only secondary school education, used AI technology to create a short film within 10 days, spending only 3,000 Chinese yuan (approximately $440) on production costs.
Because of this video, he not only gained recognition from a Hollywood director but his entire life was transformed to the extent that he received a job offer. The short film he created, titled "Zombie Scavenger," initially attracted no attention when he posted it on Chinese social media platforms on May 9th.
However, the very next day, PJ Accetturo, a renowned Hollywood AI film creator and director, discovered the video on social media and gave it special praise, which led to the film becoming a global sensation overnight.
As of now, the short film has been viewed by over 60 million people. Hollywood director Accetturo even wrote a compliment saying "This is one of the best short films I've seen in many years."
Moreover, Accetturo wrote, "If anyone can find the director who made this video, please share their social media accounts with me. I really want to hire them, but I haven't been able to find them yet. I think they might be a content creator using Douyin (TikTok) from China."
This case of effectively utilizing technology with minimal budget to gain recognition at the Hollywood level is a truly inspiring story that demonstrates that anything is possible in the AI era if one has the right skills and qualities.
