China has successfully built and handed over the world's largest car carrier ship capable of transporting up to 10,800 car units at once. If all the cars that can be loaded on this large ship were lined up end to end, it would stretch approximately 31 miles (50 kilometers).
The ship, named Glovis Leader, was built by Guangzhou Shipyard International, located in Guangzhou, China. The ship measures 754 feet (230 meters) in length and 131 feet (40 meters) in width. It is designed like an enormous car parking garage floating on water and features 14 decks capable of carrying regular cars, electric vehicles, hydrogen-powered cars, and extremely heavy-duty trucks.
Additionally, this large ship is equipped with an advanced dual-fuel engine system that can use either liquefied natural gas (LNG) or conventional ship fuel. This makes fuel consumption more efficient while also reducing harmful emissions into the atmosphere.
