At a sex toy exhibition held in Shanghai last week, sound-activated devices and chatbots that can engage in conversation particularly attracted visitors. Leading Chinese manufacturers in global sex toy production have now begun integrating AI technology, which is trending worldwide, into their products.
Apps like Luvmazer can convert conversations with virtual partners into vibrations, while Cydoll company has showcased robots that can not only speak but also express emotions. In today's era, as people increasingly prefer spending time alone at home rather than going out, manufacturers are hopeful that AI-powered sex toys will become companions that help alleviate loneliness.
Additionally, other sex toy companies are producing apps that can automatically adjust speed and pressure according to scenes in videos, and smart devices that can respond based on ambient sound in the environment. While such innovations were rare before, nowadays many sex toy companies are increasingly adopting these technologies in parallel.
However, AI-generated sexual content still raises concerns regarding legal and privacy security. Since China restricts obscene content as illegal, manufacturers say they must be extremely careful when applying AI technology to avoid running into problems.
