Ferrari company showcased a new 100-foot Hypersail sailing yacht at Milan Design Week, surprising the tech world.
The yacht will be introduced starting in 2026, with sea trials to be conducted afterward. Most notably, Ferrari has used the distinctive bright Giallo Fly yellow color, which is as iconic to Ferrari as the red racing color is typically known.
This yacht is specially designed for maritime racing competitions and is built with T-foils systems that allow it to leap off the water and sail as if flying.
With a carbon fiber body measuring 20 meters wide and sails standing 40 meters tall, these features will optimize the yacht's performance. Furthermore, being co-created with top designer Guillaume Verdier, it can be said to be a competitive masterpiece combining technology and aesthetics.
In terms of energy, instead of using diesel engines at all, it only uses 20 kilowatts of power generated from 100 square meters of solar panels.
By combining wind energy and kinetic energy, it can be called a future technology that does not harm the natural environment.
Advanced control systems used in Ferrari cars have been reapplied to this yacht, and this also serves as an experiment for future innovations.
