Apple seems to be expecting good sales for its first foldable phone. Apple's first foldable phone, named iPhone Ultra, is expected to be introduced in September next year alongside the iPhone 18 Pro series.

Before that introduction, Apple has ordered suppliers to produce around 10 million foldable phones within 2026, according to reports from Nikkei Asia news outlet.

Earlier reports indicated that initial production volumes were targeted between 7 to 8 million units.

Additionally, since Apple has told suppliers to increase production of iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max by 70 million units, the total production target for new iPhone models in 2026 is expected to be close to 220 million units.

The company is also said to have instructed suppliers to reserve certain components in preparation, as there could be additional orders of up to 85 million units in the second half of 2026.

Besides the new foldable phone, the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are scheduled to be announced on September 8th next year.

According to rumor reports, the price of the iPhone Ultra is expected to start around US$2,500 and could reach up to $3,000 for models with higher storage capacity.
