Iran's Fars News Agency has stated that it will militarily target Elon Musk's SpaceX and Starlink infrastructure.
Iran has accused the U.S. and Israeli militaries of using Starlink satellite internet networks in areas where they attack Iran, and has placed businesses related to Musk, including those in the Middle East and Western Asia as well as Israel, on military targeting lists.
While Iran has banned Starlink devices and imposed prison sentences for their use, during anti-government protests, thousands of devices have been smuggled in to bypass internet shutdowns.
Additionally, the U.S. State Department has reportedly purchased nearly 6,000 Starlink devices to help bypass internet blackouts, according to a Wall Street Journal report.
This news has emerged during heightened regional military tensions, including statements by U.S. President Donald Trump about seizing Iran's main oil shipping hub, Kharg Island.
