In Japan, as incidents of wild boars attacking and killing people have increased, residents are eagerly purchasing terrifying "robot wolves" designed to drive away wild animals.

The "Monster Wolf," produced by Hokkaido-based company Ohta Seiki, is designed like a nightmare come to life, and has already received over 50 orders this year alone—more than a typical year's worth of sales.

Because these robots are meticulously crafted by hand, customers ordering them have to wait in queues for 2 to 3 months, such is the demand.

This is no ordinary toy robot. To truly scare away wild boars, it can emit over 50 different types of sounds—including intestinal sounds, howling, and human voices—loud enough to be blood-curdling, and these sounds can be heard up to 1 kilometer away.

The robot's head sways side to side, its red LED eyes flash intermittently, and blue lights emanate from its tail.

Thanks to this effective technology, farmers worried about wild boar dangers, golf course operators, and construction workers near forests and mountains are desperately purchasing these robots, which cost over 4,000 US dollars.

Wild boar danger in Japan has become a serious concern. Between 2025-2026, up to 13 people have been killed in attacks, and there have been over 50,000 reports of wild boar sightings.

Wild boars are not confined to forests but are increasingly entering residential areas, schools, supermarkets, and hot spring resorts on a daily basis.

Currently, the company is upgrading the robot by installing wheels so it can chase and drive away animals, and is also planning to add AI cameras in the future and produce handheld versions for mountain climbers and students.
