A male employee at a company in Singapore hired a cleaner under false pretenses to spy on his female colleagues. The 35-year-old man, Iskandar Kamaruddin, told the cleaner that he was responsible for maintaining the women's restroom, and hid a pinhole camera inside an air freshener bottle to commit the offense. However, the cleaner discovered the hidden camera when checking whether the air freshener bottle was empty.
The former medical professional entered the women's restroom within October 2025 and set up the camera with motion detection activated, directing it toward the toilet bowl. The camera recorded private body parts of two female colleagues. After the cleaner discovered the camera, Iskandar attempted to cover up his crime by stealing the memory card out of fear and trying to destroy evidence.
Later, police investigated and arrested him. They also found the missing memory card and another small camera at his residence. The prosecutor argued in court that Iskandar had deliberately planned and executed the crime with deception. Consequently, on Wednesday, June 3, the court sentenced him to 28 weeks imprisonment for charges of illegal trespassing and voyeurism.
