Gatsby, a robotics technology company, successfully completed the first-ever home cleaning service using a humanoid robot in the United States on May 14th.

To use this service, users must register through their iOS application, and the company randomly selected participants from the waitlist using a lottery system.

The humanoid robot was then dispatched to the selected user's apartment and completed the entire cleaning task autonomously without any human assistance, marking a truly remarkable milestone for the domestic robotics technology sector.

What distinguishes Gatsby is that it operates on a "robot rental service" model similar to the famous taxi service Uber.

Instead of spending millions to purchase a robot outright, users only need to pay $150 per home cleaning session.

Currently, this service is being piloted only in San Francisco, and it offers service at a fixed price regardless of the apartment size.

Attempting to replace household chores with humanoid robots is not unique to Gatsby alone. Leading technology companies worldwide, including Tesla's Optimus, Figure, and Unitree, are simultaneously developing humanoid robots capable of performing daily household tasks such as laundry, cooking, and cleaning.

Due to Gatsby's current initiative, the near future will likely see an accelerated transition into a new era where home assistant robots can be summoned and used with just a phone tap.
