OpenAI officially introduced "Dots," an AI agent system that can continuously execute assigned tasks without interruption, even when users are offline, on September 29. Powered by GPT-6 Astra, these AI agents include dedicated cloud computing and web browsers, enabling them to work around the clock to achieve user-defined goals and objectives.
These AI agents can integrate with over 4,000 applications and are capable of conducting research through platforms like ChatGPT, Slack, and Microsoft Teams, as well as proficiently handling software development, data analysis, and content creation tasks. Users can set predefined rules in advance and create safeguards requiring manual approval for certain critical operations. However, when users are offline, assigned tasks are currently restricted to read-only access to information.
Dots is not a physical robot but a technological AI agent designed to efficiently assist with business operations. Currently, it is available to ChatGPT Pro, Business Premium subscribers, as well as Enterprise Beta program users who meet specified criteria.
