Taking the lead ahead of Apple's iPhone Ultra, Xiaomi introduced their first wide-format foldable phone, the Xiaomi 18 Fold, on September 7th—two days before Apple's expected announcement.
What's particularly interesting is that Xiaomi has incorporated an eye-catching Cherry Red color option alongside the design elements that Apple is rumored to launch.
At the heart of the phone lies Xiaomi's proprietary flagship Xring O3 SoC, with RAM options up to 16GB and storage configurations up to 1TB.
The displays include a 7.58-inch inner foldable screen and a 5.38-inch outer screen, both featuring 120Hz refresh rates and brightness up to 4,000 nits, ensuring clear visibility even in bright sunlight.
For photography enthusiasts, the device boasts a standout 200MP main camera. Additionally, a 50MP periscope camera with 3.5x optical zoom, a 50MP ultrawide camera, and a 16MP selfie camera work together to capture stunning images.
The all-day 6,000 mAh battery is charged via 67W fast charging and 50W wireless charging capabilities.
The Xiaomi 18 Fold runs HyperOS 4 based on Android 17 and is available in four colors plus a special ceramic version. Pricing ranges from approximately $1,638 to $2,383 for the top configuration, though it's currently exclusive to the Chinese market.
