Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun hosted a three-hour livestream from the company's Yizhuang factory in Beijing, conducting a full component-by-component teardown of the new SU7 sedan alongside automotive safety expert Zhu Xichan.
The session covered everything from the exterior paintwork and wheels to interior trim and the 7.1.4-channel audio system. Highlights included the aerospace-grade aluminium body structure and live battery nail-penetration safety tests, which drew significant viewer interest.
Lei Jun also announced that pre-orders for the new SU7 have now exceeded 40,000 units. Deliveries began on March 23rd, with over 7,000 cars delivered in the first nine days — an average of nearly 800 units per day.
