South Korean top actor Kim Soo-hyun's agency has filed a lawsuit against Kim Se-ui, owner of "Hover Lab," who is accused of spreading false allegations against the actor and forcing him to halt his entertainment career.
The agency stated that the YouTuber had been colluding with Kim Sae-ron, the late minor sister of actor Kim Soo-hyun, and fabricated audio files and message screenshots using AI technology to spread false information and manipulate public opinion.
The Seoul Central District Court issued an arrest warrant for the YouTuber on Wednesday, citing concerns that he could destroy evidence or flee.
Due to these allegations, actor Kim Soo-hyun has suffered significant damage in his social and business environments, and according to police records, he is currently undergoing mental health treatment.
In March 2025, the actor held a tearful press conference acknowledging his relationship with his sister but clarifying that it began after she reached adulthood, and announced he would pursue legal action against the YouTuber for the false allegations.
Following the arrest, the actor's agency released a statement on Wednesday saying "the truth has been proven through evidence."
The investigation revealed that all allegations from Hover Lab were baseless, and the actor's agency stated that he has made efforts over the past year to prove his innocence as promised, while expressing gratitude to the supporters who stood by him.
The arrested YouTuber Kim Se-ui denied the allegations against him and said he plans to file a counter-complaint with police and prosecutors.
