Honor showcased a prototype of its Robot Phone — featuring a built-in camera gimbal arm — at CES 2026, announcing it will begin selling in China next March. First unveiled in October 2025, the phone features an "emotional companion" capability where the robotic arm can automatically sense and respond to its surroundings like a robot. At CES 2026, the public was not yet allowed to handle the device, but employee demonstrations showed the robotic arm responding smoothly and with stability. When retracted, the phone looks like a standard flagship with a large rear camera circle — but when deployed, the arm extends gracefully and tracks subjects like a DJI Osmo Pocket. Because it includes motors and moving components, Honor had to sacrifice the ultra-thin design typical of standard smartphones. As a result, the Robot Phone is noticeably thicker and heavier than regular flagship phones. While foldable phones have transformed the smartphone world, CNET describes this device as something completely different from conventional form factors. Honor has not yet disclosed detailed specifications. According to Digital Trends, the fully polished production version with complete autonomous tracking will be shown at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in March, after which it will officially go on sale in China.
